As a business, your online success is determined by the amount of leads and sales you can generate. Of course that depends on the amount of traffic you generate. One of the best ways to increase your website traffic is to have an active and engaging blog.
And no, I’m not just pulling this out of thin air. My thoughts and beliefs on the subject come from cold hard facts. Take a look at our traffic last year. We started blogging in March on a regular basis, from there we increased our blogging output and it took hold! This year we have a goal of blogging every single day. Why? Because it works.
Of course we’ve come up with a strategy to make sure our blog posts get as much action as possible. First and foremost, you have to blog about relevant topics. And when I say relevant, I mean relevant to your target audience. Those are the people you want to attract. Once you have the content, follow these 7 tips and you’ll be on your way to generating more and more traffic.
7 Ways To Generate More Blog Traffic
1. Encourage Others To Share
Once you have great content, other people will want to share it. But sometimes they need a little push. If you encourage them to share, offer incentives, and make it easy for them, you will get more action. If you don’t have social share buttons on your blog, add them now.
2. Share Each Blog Post
You need to be sharing each and every blog post through your own social channels. I share them though my personal accounts and our business accounts for maximum reach. I also share multiple times throughout the months. This way older posts get a little love too.
3. Blog Often
The number one thing you should be doing. Take a look at those stats in the beginning of the post. The more you blog, the more traffic you’ll get. Plus, you’ll get found for keywords you might not have thought of. Score!
4. Guest Blog
I love guest blogging. It helps drive traffic to your site, but it also helps grow your network. When you have an increased network, you are more likely to have people clicking-through on the things you share. Definitely look into LinkedIn publishing as a guest blog platform.
5. Create A Sharing Program
Want extra shares? Create a program to get your employees sharing posts. Strength in numbers. You can also create something with influencers in your network or industry.
6. Share Other Blogs
People reciprocate. If you share other people’s blogs, they will return the favor. Done and done.
7. Comment On Other Blogs
This is a great way to build a community around your blog. Bloggers are a great support system. When you show the love, they will show the love. Plus, when you comment there is a link in your profile back to your site. Don’t be spammy though.
